This year’s Jefferson County Fair Junior Talent Competition is going VIRTUAL!

The Junior Amateur Talent Contest will be held virtually on Wednesday, July 8 at 5:30 PM on the Jefferson County Fair website. This year’s contest is open to two age division: Youth ( 2-12 years) and Teen: (13-18 years). Suggested basic talent areas include dance, vocal, instrument and variety. No bands. Rules and entry forms below:

We apologize for the inconvenience but the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra has postponed ALL weekend performances, including the one scheduled at Knapton.  We will update our website once the event has been rescheduled. 

We are pleased to welcome Thomas Aquino to Knapton Musik Knotes for a special performance!

Thomas Aquino is from Chicago, Illinois. He studied for ten years with Jack Cecchini, a prominent figure in the Chicago guitar community. Mr. Aquino was awarded the Barbara and David Jacobs Scholarship to attend the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as an undergraduate. Thomas has taken master classes with leading guitarists such as Christopher Parkening, Jorge Caballero and Adam Holzman. In 2018, Thomas placed 2nd in the classical category of the Wilson Center Guitar Competition. He has received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in guitar performance from the Jacobs School of Music and is currently working towards a doctoral degree in guitar performance there.

Although this is a free event, we will be accepting freewill offerings. We also ask that you register, as space is limited. Mr. Aquino will also be performing with the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra on March 14th and March 15th.

Join Ed at Jefferson Elementary School as he will be playing the ukulele and the guitar during the Art Night!

This is a great opportunity to learn more about music in our schools!

Join our very own Gurus of the Ukes - Robin and Ed - at a special Ukulele Workshop hosted by the Beloit Public Library.

This workshop is open to children ages 8 +. No uke required but feel free to one if you have one!

Our students work hard on their weekly lessons and look forward to sharing their talent with friends and family.  Our ROCKtober Recitals are just around the corner!   

Choose between two time slots: 1:00pm or 3:00pm.

• FREE Beginning Uke Circle at 11:00 am—fun drawings & prizes for all kids in attendance!

• FREE Beginning Guitar Class for Kids at 2pm—fun drawings & prizes for all kids in attendance. Space is limited. Please click on link below to RSVP!

• Instrument Donation Drive—Do you have instruments you no longer use? We’re joining forces with 94.1 WJJO! to get unused instruments into the hands of kids who can use them! Starting 10/6, bring in your old or unused instruments and in-house repair department will ensure these instruments are in great playing condition. We’ll then coordinate with local schools to find the instrument a new owner!

• One Day Only sale on select instruments, accessories!

Come join us in the Milton 4th of July parade! The Parade starts at 1pm, please check in at our designated spot by 12pm. We are #39 in the lineup.

Feel free to bring a wagon decorated with a music theme, as well as a musical instrument (guitar, ukulele, tambourine, etc) to play while we march. We’ll be marching, playing, and tossing candy.

Friends and parents are welcome to walk with us! Water and sunscreen will be provided.

Gabriel Aldort is a New York composer and performer with a unique jazzy blues style.  From 6-7pm, students and teachers can meet Gabe in person and ask questions and learn some Clavinova tips!  A concert will follow, which the public is welcome to attend!

A Music Talent Contest, presented by the MacDowell Music Club, will be held on Friday, May 5th at 7:00 PM at Knapton Musik Knotes. This contest is open to all ages, and participants may sing or play an instrument of their choice.
